Well, it looks like Sunday is going to be hard work; right now there is a total of 24 " of wet snow on the ground here; and its still coming down! Here's some photos: The lump in the left foreground is a 12 foot tree! Note Marge Simpson in the yard The back deck...no BBQ today
When I went out to shovel at 10:30 am EST, I had 24 " on the drive way; When my wife came out to help about an hour later, it was at 26" and it's still coming down! I'll update the driveway progress with a photo this afternoon.....
I'm a bit north of you Texson. As of about noon, we have nearly 18" of the junk. It's still snowing, and I'm determined not to shovel until it has stopped. I'll just spend the day hanging around here and reading. When is it gonna be spring?
Just finished 3 hours of pushing my snowblower around. Probably 20" all told with some areas a bit higher because of blowing. Tomorrow, the front patio.
gorgeous reminds me of the old mtn home in the Cascades where it would dump on the usual more than 3 feet at a time. great set of pics Tex E `
Don't remind me. The weather folk are calling for another storm on Wednesday, but not as strong. They also predict there will be several more because of the way the jet stream is flowing.
Well, here's the last report for the day: Total at 4 pm was 31 inches! Progress on the drive way: A little over half done; I'll wait to do the apron after the street plow comes down the lane! And a vertical shot of the outside from the cleared part of the driveway: Now : Its Miller Time! well, really its
I'm pretty sure if you add the total snow that has fallen here in my entire lifetime, it does not equal 31 inches...and you supposedly live in the South. Better you than me.
Well, the Feds in DC stood down so I got to open up the driveway after 3 snow plows finally came by this morning (just one lane). That's the GOOD news! The BAD News: 10-20 inches of new snow expected starting tomorrow at noon until Wednesday evening! (And there's ANOTHER storm in SoCal headed this way for the coming weekend!!!!)
One of the things that used to just tick me off to no end was this. Before I moved to this apartment as a divorced fella, I had to shovel (no snow blower) out my driveway as well. I would spend an entire morning clearing it out, and before I could drive out of the thing here would come the city snow plow and put a huge BERM right across the end again! Don't have that problem anymore, the managment does all the snow clearing at the complex and I just drive away!
Wow - you really got walloped with snow! Great photos. It's been relatively light for us here - although we had quite a bit a couple of weeks ago - but only about 6" to 8" for that storm. My husband said I'd be helping this year since our 20-something son moved out, but having had abdominal surgery in January - I got out of it for this year. The advantage of always expecting snow is that we have a snowblower which makes it easier. Clint, you were lucky that the city did your drive. Our's is still waiting - which has meant I've not been able to get my car out of the yard yet - 18" ruts! I hope any future storms won't be too bad. Remember to take it easy shoveling, so you don't hurt yourself!
