Hitler in Austria

I am looking for information or a source that would tell me if Hitler ever returned to Braunau (his birth place) or Linz or that area of Upper Austria during 1934-36, even if for only one day. If he did not during that period, did he come anytime in the 1930's?

I am writing a novel and the protagonist meets him in Upper Austria in the 30s. Even though the book is fiction, I'd like to base their meeting on fact, if possible. In the book, Lotte, is a teen-ager, 14 years old in 1934, who is part of a choir that performs for Adolf during a visit to Upper Austria.

Thanks for the leads. Unfortunately neither shows Hitler in Austria in 1934. It looks like his first return was in 1938 after the Anschluss. But, I'll keep on looking.

I think its highly unlikely Hitler would have come to Austria after becoming a member of the Nazi party, before "the inclusion of Austria into Germany".

I do not know if Hitler ever returned to Austria( as i havent finished reading the book yet), but reading this would give you a much needed insight on the topic in which your researching. [ and the good thing is that this book is not fiction. This should make you happy].

Book Name: "HITLER's GAMBLE" by Giles MacDonough.

 

Thanks for the lead on HITLER's GAMBLE. It gets mixed reviews on Amazon and apparently only deals with 1938. I'll be in Sarasota and will check their library. 1934 was the year he first came to power so is very important also.

 

I am curious about the laws of the moment, would Hitler have had to relinquish his Austrian citizenship when he became a German citizen in February of 1932? That was when Hitler decided to stand against Hindenburg in the forthcoming Presidential election. He had to do so (become a German citizen), in order to stand for an election in Germany, so he became a German citizen on 25th February 1932.

I don't know what the "rules" were at the time as to visiting heads of state, but there must have been some records (knowing teutonic passion for same) between governments as per dignitaries travelling between nations.
