I would agree, they could conquer the West and move most of their troops to Russia.

But then again, the world being epiliptical, no matter which way you go, you can be attacked.

Uncle Joe had plans to attack Germany in 42, so this fact alone kills the idea that Germany could have taken medditteranean & mid east oil, then turned around to attack Russia in say 43. Besides if the Germans did wait to attack Russia, they would have run into thousands more T-34's The best case scenario would be to attack Russia in 41 & make a peace settlement in winter of 41, then turned around & finished Medditteranean & taken Portugal which would force Spains hand to join axis, then take Gibralter & Morrocco. Then attack Baku through Iran, late 42 or early 43. This is still no guarantee of victory, Russia could & would rearm & be dangerous in 43 & allies could still land in a part of Africa further south & on eastern side of africa Somalia perhaps as well. Then Germans still face overwhelming ability of allies to make hardware. only hope is a peace settlement with England, which is doubtful.

Marshals Zhúkov and Timoshenko, along with the STAVKA had plans to invade Germany in summer 1942 or 1943, but Stalin never approved this plan, or at least there is not any evidence that can prove that Stalin had intentions to invade Germany. But I think that he realised he couldn't thrust Hitler and would ultimately need to destroy fascism himself.

On the other hand, Germany could have indeed focused on the western front, building many long-range planes and submarines to defeat Great Britain.

Without 'Barbarossa' the Wehrmacht would have had 140 divisions and 3 Air Fleets to spare. But how in the world could such a force have been deployed outside of continental Europe?

Giving Rommel two more Panzer divisions sounds easy and nice, but how could this 12.000 men units with all their equipment have been deployed with the RAF and the RN there?

To do this Malta needed to be reduced and taken and cutting British naval lines in the entire central Mediterranean. Basing a German Air Fleet in Malta, another in Crete and another in North Africa could have neutralised the RN in the Mediterranean, making very difficult to supply British forces in Egypt. But again, how can you expect that even if Rommel had taken Suez he could have reached Iraq and the Caucasus after a 3.000 kilometres supply line? No way.
