Very proud daddy today. My 10 year old step son has moved on to Boy Scouts after 4 years as a Cub. Very cool ceremony today, extra special because it's the 100th anniversary of scouting! He got his picture taken with his Great-Grandfathers Eagle Scout Badge...was very cool. Looking forward to being involved with the Boy Scout Troop now!!

Hi Luke and a Congrats is in order. I too was in the Cub Scouts-then the Boy Scouts later on. I never made it to Eagle Scout but was just one below it-Life Scout. At about age 16 or so? I got bored with Troop 147 and just quit shwing up on Saturday Mornings.

    Carl,
My boy meets on Sundays, which will be strange now that I got promoted I don't get every Sunday off...I will try and be part of his troop as much as I can. I hope he'll go as far as Eagle Scout, but I will support him in whatever he decides. Was a very proud day today!

Hi Luke, his accomplishmenty is a great thing to be proud of him earning. I remember a few of the Merit Badges I earned-were pretty hard to earn and I only did so through trial and error. The hardest one for me was when I had to learn how to tie I think ti was? 10 or so different knots. I've forgotten most of them cept for the easiest ones-liks slip knot and such ;-))

After the Boy Scouts-do you thinkk he will go into the Pioneers? I wanted to at the time but never did.

    Take care-Carl.

I remember scouts, went all through Cub scouts and make it to about first class in boy scouts, but out troop didn't do much so I got bored with it and stopped showing up.

I think he wants to shoot for Eagle Scout...he's been devouring his new book and we ordered his new uniform today. He's pretty excited. I'm just glad that he's into things different than most of his peer group. He does scouts and skiing and (supervised) shooting. They seem to do video games and tv.
