Picking any General,Field Marshal,Admiral, etc. with complete authority [ie. no stand and hold orders] which battle would you want to change? Whether it is to save a defeat like Paulus at Stalingrad or to win a battle like Patton getting his Sicily plan approved over Monty's. [IMG]

MacAuthur in the Philippines in 1941 / 42. I think it was possible for the US / Philippine forces there to stalemate, if not outright win that one. A Japanese defeat there (and a stalemated quagmire is a Japanese defeat) would have dramatically changed the course of the Pacific War.

I would like to make the necessary changes to make Market-Garden a success...

And for starters they would be flying TWO lifts on the first day!

Well Von Luck states he could have taken Pegasus bridge back in the eraly hours but I aint sure. Plus the levels of naval support and air support as soon as daylight reins would have given the Paras some real firepower!

Tell ya wot, when you have painted up your paras we will find out...

Baggsy not being the one who wakes the Fuhrer from his slumber, thats a shooting offence for sure!

Yes 1-1 but I made short work of your tigers, and considering I had peasant batts. against your elite Germans I think I did alright!

I still can't believe I didn't inflict one casualty on a full batt!

Command british forces in the med at the time of rommels arrival. if the units had not been siphoned of in one of Churchills sideshows it would be interesting to see what might have happened.

Possibly. Another one could be to take over from Percival in Singapore.

That seems like a bit of a 'lost cause' to me...

But lets face it, Percival was useless...

This has possibilities. The Japanese amphibious assault almost failed in the initial landings. Only sheer determination and courage saved the situation. Had the Indians defending the beaches been a bit more numerous or better trained.....

Von Manstein getting the power over all eastern front for "elastic defence" in May 1943. I know Germany could not win but Zhukov would cry quite alot with the losses...

Being Gamelin in 1940. A full-strenght blow against the Meuse bridgeheads would have been interesting.
