That's YANK, not yankee pal. Get you disparraging monikers straight. We don't call you Welsh.

    Just watch the coppering stuff.

I'll cook up a pot of gumbo for us all then. Real spicy too. Y'all have to bring the beer cause ours isn't too strong over here compared to what y'all are used to pouring down the pie holes.

If the sheep are mounting you, I think you are doing something wrong? I don't know a lot but I'm fairly certain of that.
The snow is melting here, I finally am remembering why I wanted outside dogs. I love mud colored carpets...and white ducks love this muddy mess. Maybe I'll switch to growing sheep too. How big of eggs do they lay?

You've never eaten my mom's or wife's cooking.

I'm not really sure what constitutes "American" food. What we eat on a regular basis is so varied from state to state.

Shoot, we can't even agree on how to cook a staple of the US food choices, barbecue. Here is something I posted last year:
    YouTube - The BBQ Song

I've lived in Alabama all of my life (40+ years) and I have never heard of white BBQ sauce till this song. Found out that is something they do up in the north end of the state. We are more like Arkansas where I live.

Slip has a point...you have southern bbq, memphis bbq, kc bbq, carolina bbq...and that's just the stuff I have tried to cook. Go to each state and ask for their "house" burger...see what you get...American cooking is as diverse and wonderfully different as the people cooking it!

    Hello Slipdigit,

Ah..Well.. now that would be HOME COOKING, and yes true enough there were a lot of Homecook meals in the States that I enjoyed a lot - I shall never forget those deliiiiicious Strawberry vanilla cakes..yum...yum indeed.

Oh by the way, do you remember that Jackie Kennedy Onassis joke?

After JFK's tragic death, Jackie has to leave the White House and she tries desperately to convince the cook to follow her- since she just couldn't take the thought of missing that good American food. But he consequently refuses. After all persuasive attempts have failed, she makes the cook promise her to send a most adequate replacement to her new home with Onassis.
Several weeks later she receives a package from the cook - upon opening she finds a letter attached to a small box, stating - with utmost respect please find the promised replacement - she wonders and opens the small box - and... It's a can opener.

Oh ah and I believe that this is food/cooking thread Nr. 3 in three day's - you guys must be starving :D

    Regards
    Kruska

here's a curry delivery andy... taken from the telegraph.. the Guinness Book Of Records in 2004 for the world's longest curry delivery when he arranged for a frozen vegetable biryani and peshwari naan bread to be delivered from his restaurant in Newcastle's Bigg Market to Sydney, a distance of nearly 11,000 miles. The order was placed by a Geordie expatriate, Rachel Kerr, who took delivery on Sydney Harbour

    Hello Snip,

    Pakistani curry....

Having grown up in Asia - off course no treat could be spicy enough for me. Until that day in Londinium. The waiter warned me about having ordered a "real" spicy meal, but I shrugged my shoulders and gave him that "German command look" saying - make it extra spicy!!

I tell you, that piece of meat was burning/melting in slow motion through my tongue - and don't ever ask me about the Loo appointment the next day - GOOOOOOD...mmmhhpff....aaahhhhhrgg

    Regards
    Kruska

Maybe we should start a "regional favorite recipe" thread going from the interest on this thread. Who knows, it might just cool things down a bit....
