I think hes just trying to say, except for those forum regions where we are allowed to stray off in other directions, we need to try our best to keep our relevance to WW2 or else there forum degenerates into one of the many thousands of "Free Fire Zone"-esqe forums.

I agree, mostly, with what was said here, as I think we all have the same general idea in mind. There is no way, at all that every post on every thread is going to stay on topic 100% I think, from what I've read of the threads here, and I've gotten through a large chunk of them, that most of the participants do a great job. The Free Fire and all other off topic from WWII areas...isn't that why they were created? To keep the WWII threads free of clutter? I say, if you don't like the threads in FFZ going off in twenty different directions, then don't read it. Stick to the WWII topics if the Free Fire ones get your ilk up. If you don't like the sport threads, stay out of them. But don't nit pick on them. And as for joining a WWII forum and not posting very much on WWII topics...I am guilty! If I had anything to add to any of the discussions, I would add to them...but I'm certainly not going to chime in on a topic that I can't add anything worthwhile to. I find it enjoyable to come to the forum, read to my hearts content, and then trade banter, jokes, friendly insults, whatever, with fellow Rouges in the FFZ. And I don't think it's taking away from the rest of the forum at all.

Hello fellows - I have been following on this thread now very intensively:confused:

So in order to avoid any mistakes or arouse unwanted hard feelings against me, I just want to make sure and ask:

Has it already been decided that we wear kinky helmets now, in order to post on the sports part then, and wait for Otto to bring a ball that stay's on topic 100%, so that we can read about topics that don't interest us, before we go and dance and then stray off in twenty different directions?

    Regards
    Kruska

The overall point is that this is a ww2 forum and in every regard should be predominately kept as a ww2 related forum. The rest of the forum is to add more interest to the forum, either when not much is happening in the ww2 related topics or to simply bring us closer to each other. I have found that the Gaming section in particular has allowed me to get to know some of the other members both through live interactions in game's or simply through there exploits in their games, and as Mussolini said, the gaming section is generally dominated by ww2 related games. These although not actual history can be seen as a type of alternate history and thus relevant.

As for the FFZ it is a great place to learn what is going on around the world, but it should not be the main focus of the members or the forum. As I have always said, the objective on this forum is WW2 and Otto wants this site to be readily available to students and not full of unrelated or off topic threads or posts.

The words of wisdom that are trying to be imparted here are these:
Feel free to post in the FFZ, Stump, Sports, Gaming or anyother off subject sub-forum, but don't let positng in those areas be the main reason for your membership.

As most of you know, I am very right of center in my politics, but even I acknowledge that a flaming liberal has something pertinent to say every once in a while about politics. However, they may have something even more pertinent to say even more regularly about WWII. Since this is a forum dedicated to the discussion of all things related to the period roughly from 1920 to 1955, with heavy emphasis on 1938 or so to around 1946, I would rather talk to someone political opposed to me about the war here and about politics elsewhere and so does the owner.

I think this thread has more than run its course. Let's let it die a painless death.

Hi Ange--but your an exception my effendi. And besides, someone who resides somewhere near the Dali Lama-can't be all that bad? ;-))

But seriously, I fit into all the above catagories on postings. heck, id absolutely hate it if someone here could find my 20 or so first postings. I think they were all probably BS.

Especially for Ange--Great-looking lid-when should I expect it in the mail? or do I hear something that sounds like: "When Cattle learn to fly?"

    What:eek:!!?? noooooo way you Britischer,

send me the metric datas (not those feet and ounces) the Endlaender tree might be tall compared to them Irish lads, - but compared to a BAVARIAN maypole :p

And be carefull some of the more traditional Bavarian lads are still into maypole (requisistion) - they might if necessary even take a dingy to England - "operation Sealion" - hey who say's this thread isn't WWII related?

Oh and Carl, I do think that 20 posts of yours are BS (so get rid of them):) and regarding to the "lid" (you lesser period Tejas cowhandler) - since when do pigs fly ? :D

Yeah, FDR and Winnie were in on letting Tojo bomb the crap out of the Navy just to get us into WW2. Imagine that!
