Hello all,I am looking forward to getting to know this forum and to having access to such a comprehensive and insightfull resource.I am an enthusiastic amateur,still awed by the the challenges faced and resources utilised by all concerned in the Second World War.It often occurs to me that it is only in wartime that Mankind realy stretches the parameters of its abilities from the lowest lows to the highest highs.Many lessons have been repeated but seldom definitively learnt over the past 2-3 millenia.However many benefits for subsequent development in peace have offered some consolation (albeit often at profound cost)I hope to acquire a better understanding of peoples experience and perspectives,whilst living through these 'interesting times'!I also hope to have the odd natter and where possible even a laugh or two (no one knows better than the Poor Bloody Infantry- P.B.I.,That life with all it's absurdities goes on)!Please get back to me where you can.If ever i cause offence I'm sure it will be due to ignorance or over excitement!Please do not hesitate to let me know if this is the case and i will endeavour to correct myself or if warranted apologise forthwith!
