    3. A Stabsmusikmeister shoulder board for the 4th Flak Regiment.

    4. A single collar tab for an Obermusikmeister for a signals unit.

    Hi Vegar,

    Thanks for the reply.

There were quite a few Luftwaffe Musicians uniforms out there. Musicans were typcially band members who joined the unit bands as a secondary duty. Their uniforms and insignia were exactly the same as everyone else in their unit, with the addition of Sparrow's wings to the shoulders.

The uniform photoed here is a uniform for a Luftwaffe Music Leader. These guys have PhD's in music and were actual composers. I have only seen two of these uniforms in collections. The other was flight piped as well, but for an Obermusikmeister(Oberleutnant).

There are tons of rank charts on line. Seriously, Google "Luftwaffe Rankings, WW2" and you sould be able to find something. :- )

The reason I asked you to google them is that I am currently at sea on a military ship. While I do have internet, it can at times, take me hours to do things on line.

I did a search on Google and found some ranking charts. I hope that they help a little. :- ) :

    Ranks

I will look for a graphical representation when I have a better internet connection.

This site has some really great ranking charts. Look under Luftwaffe, then uniforms, then Deinstgrade der Luftwaffe.

There is also a wealth of other information here too! An awesome resource!

There is indeed a great variety and the drawings are well made.
