Luftwaffe Navigator Korps

    This group of men was established in 1939. They were disbanded in late 1941 and men who physically met the requirements for active duty in the regular Luftwaffe were absorbed into the Flight branch and wore the standard yellow waffenfarbe.

    There were only three paygrades:

    Fl. OberNautiker- Oberleutant
    Fl. HauptNautiker- Hauptmann
    Fl. StabsNautiker- Major

    There is what I have.

    Awesome Paul, another obscure Lw branch I had never heard of. So did these guys fly Katapult aircrafts on Battleships or were they flying or ground crew coast guards?
    No wonder they were disbanded. They were half KM and half LW : something to become Skitzophrenic about. Cheers for posting these

    Hi Skipper,

    I do not think that these guys had anything to do with the KM. They were in charge of developing navigational instruments for air craft.
