This could very well be a major blow to Cameron!

If the Liberals swing to-wards Labour with the help of other party's, Labour could stay in power

    326 seats to win..

    Labour 258
    Liberal Democrats 57
    Scottish National Party 6
    Plaid Cymru 3
Social Democratic & Labour Party 3
    Green 1
    Alliance Party 1

3 seat majority if all these party's come together.

Sinn Fein 5 seats do not count as Sinn Fein will not sit in The House of Commons.

You have to laugh though! The sight of all these pompous, pious 'Leaders', the faint smell of power in their nostrills, spinning in ever tighter circles to get into power!

Lies, damn lies & statistics as Churchill once said.

    Tories.
A poll claiming 64% of people want voting reform 'Isn't overwhelming'.
36% of the vote apparently is..............????

Douglas Hurd: 'You can't have two Prime Ministers that are unelected.' John Snow: John Major was unelected. DH: That was only once!

    Labour
We got less seats than the Tories but with all the others we got more votes?

    Lib-Dems
    We must have stable Govt.............................

No wonder we're in the state we're in....................:(

It is important to remember however that regardless of which party wins the majority there will most likely be no referendum on the EU treaty regardless of what the politicos promise. If you remember the last EU treaty failed to be ratified due to failed referendums in i want to say ireland and the netherlands but being from the US i cannot remember 100% now. In my opinion on your guys political institutions i believe that a tory victory would best suit the current state of the British economy. It is always to hard to project a winner given the Proportional Represenation nature of the British electorate however.

A referendum on the EU treaty is a dead duck, Tony Blair in one of his last acts as PM signed it and Gordon Brown ratified it. Yes I like to see our country out of that nest of vipers but money is power and power is total corruption.

The whole UK Political system is corrupt so how is joining another corrupt system a culture shock?
Events have shown our Politicians (and Royal Family) as just as greedy and grasping as continental ones so I do not share this distaste for all things foriegn.
The ordinary working man has benefited greatly from European Social Legislation and I only wish we could catch up on the Pension rates of our German and French bretheren.

Most pundits say/hope it fails. BUT..............what if, just what if, Cameron & Clegg DO make it work. The list of objectives they've published, I like. If they keep the faith, support each other, let us have the referendums on voting reform and Powers to Brussels, great!!

5 years time, Let's say it has worked. Grown up politics. Surely then, there would be some sort of deal about fighting seats at the next election.......? Labour will snipe at this 24/7 cos if it works, that really would be a new beginning...................Labour could be opposition for a long, long time.

Lots in all 3 parties harping on about the past.

As one who is heartily sick of the past, I'm hoping, really hoping it's a New Future!! :)

Despite being a hardened old cynic, I agree with Hilts.

I have to confess to not 'liking' David Cameron but I just read that one of his all-time favourite movies is 'Where Eagles Dare'.....

...so for the time being, I'm giving him the benfit of the doubt ! ;)
