What if Germany did not invade Poland and just by pass it and attacked Russia lets say March 1940 by doing this England and France may well have stood their ground and watched the situation unfold. If this was the case Germany could have won but here’s the other side of the coin lets say Hitler had won say around 1942 he would have most likely turned west in 1943/44 so the question would have America entered in to the European war or stayed out? And of course would the Soviets now forced into eastern Russia rebuilt there forces? [IMG]

Without invading Poland you´ll have to make a rather long journey to get to Russia!

Good point its looks like two army groups one in the north and the other in the south it's most likely the northern one would have been the strongest and drive hard to take Moscow.

There is another possible situation Hitler could have bought off Poland with a lie after all he was very good at doing that.

Possibly from East Prussia. Danzig is the key here. The germans must take over Danzig. Without railways to supply the massive armaments and supplies needed for that war, it's nearly impossible.

Yes, aiming straight for Moscow and Leningrad. But that would leave the German army's southern flank badly exposed.

    Still possible.
