ok so my friend got this old rifle and im thinking its a kar98. but there are some insignia/engravings/emblems on the gun that ive never seen before. anyone got some answers? if you cant tell, its an upside down crescent moon with an islamic star/ star of david (?). the letters are: T C/ AS FA/ ANK ARA/ K. KALE/ 1943. thanks guys.
I'm not a small arms expert by any stretch of the imagination, but that looks like a Turkish made mauser. http://images.turkmauser.com/web1938/images/20020904_k.kaleface.jpg
wait, 25 bucks!? is it really that cheap or did you just get an awesome deal? . does anybody know how i can find out if this gun was actually used in action or if i could find out exactly who used it or something like that? theres a few tally marks scratched into the side of the gun and i think it would be really cool to find out if they mark how many kills a soldier may have gotten.
thank you for the help. i actually looked up a few things after i posted my original question and i found out it was the turkish flag right after i asked it . THANK YOU though!!
