Reincarnation

Throughout much of the past few years i have been obsessed with the theory of 'reincarnation'. After reading numerous books, near death experiences, and a lot of edgar cayce material i have to believe it is true. A recent book i read, Many Lives Many Masters by Brian Weiss has really changed my life. In it he takes a patient through her past life regressions, it is really powerful stuff. During this book the 'Spirit Masters' communicate with Dr. Weiss through his patient, giving him insight, and teaching him about the goals and purpose of our souls. According to these Spirit Masters our main goal on this earth is to express love, trust, hope and charity in order to evolve and advance our souls from one lifetime to another. I dont know about you, but i feel as though i have been on this earth before, and i am currently experimenting with past life regression and hypnotised trances to learn about my past lives. I am not sure if anyone else on here has read any of the same things as me, but i am very interested to see if anyone has any opinions on reincarnation..

 

And the reason i ask this is because i have had a recurring dream that has occured a few times, it involves me being a soldier and for some reason my Tommy Gun is hung on a tree in some forest. In this dream the next thing that always happens is the soldiers from the other army counterattack through my area and i am unprepared, and i am shot. Not sure what this dream is supposed to mean but i am eager to learn more about it.

EDIT: And it is always a Tommy Gun, not any other type of firearm but always a Tommy. I can't remember any other details from it now, but next time it happens im going to get out of bed and right every detail as soon as i wake up.

 

I remember listening to an audio book, talking about how the guy who built the titanic was reincarnated. He went down with the ship, and years later a child could draw the exact blue prints of the ship by himself. Like, legit blue prints that only engineers can draw, and he said he was that guy who sunk on the ship. There was a story on the news a few years ago, a woman's son would go into fits when he played with his toy airplanes, would go into to seisures. When asked about it, he said all he could remember was being shot down on a B-29, and gave a bunch of specific information on the plane, where he was, who the crew was etc., and he was only around five years old. Another story was this woman had twins in her, but only one lived, the other died when the cord form the other wrapped around and choked it to death. I think it was the woman's sister or something who later had a child, and that child would always beat that twin who lived, yelling "you choked me in there!" and that mother hadn't or never talked about the dead baby. So ya, the reincarnation stuff does not seem farfetched from what I've heard.

I just can't get there(reincarnation). I believe in the spirit world, and believe a lot of paranormal things can be explained by demonic activity. It's funny how some people I know have called me a religious crack-pot, yet they will try to push other types of religious beliefes and not think twice about it. I can only say I believe what I do by faith, and cannot physically prove it. But no one else has ever proven other alternatives either. I would never degrade anothers beliefe system though. They can explain their side and I'll listen, if they want to hear my views I'll share them. That's the kind of thing that makes life interesting.

 

Bigfoot is guarding it, there's a cave in NW Washington state that he has them in. Sssssshhhhhhh don't tell anyone though.

 

Interesting thoughts guys. In regards to religion, if you look into history wayy in the past (can't remember the exact years now) the church at the time removed all references to reincarnation from the bible (yes there were references) due to the fact that their power could not be as strongly excersized with people believing that they would live again, thus giving them more time to worship, pay dues to church etc. These people decided to remove these passages so that they could hold power over the worshipers of the said religion. (interesting example would be hellfire and brimstone type sermons of early america)

I really think those skeptic of reincarnation, however, should take a look at the book i mentioned. To me there is no way to really describe the stuff that happened in that book, the messages, etc. Everything written was documented on tapes and all of that.. its pretty interesting stuff i would reccomend putting it to the top of your reading list even if you are skeptical.\

EDIT: Also i have seen that story about the ww2 pilot, its some pretty freaky stuff isnt it? The way he is able to name people, the planes, the ship, locale, how it went down, where etc is all mind blowing to me. To me there is no way in hell a 5 year old could possibly know those facts, hell i wouldnt even know those facts today considering the large amount of research it would take to come up with that information. Very interesting, perhaps we'll never know, until someday..

 

This is probably talked about quite a bit here, but did Patton actually convince anyone around him (his aids and such) that he was reincarnated many times before?

Also, as a footnote, Titanic historian Don Lynch commented on how many people living today are convinced that they died on the ship in a past life. He furthermore states that most people who believe they are reincarnated tend to explain they died under incredable circumstances (like Titanic's sinking), instead of being in a traffic accident or such.

I don't doubt it. Because you can't disprove it. I guess I'd like to think there is a chance to come back...who knows? That little boys story certainly is interesting, and if someone can explain it I'd be glad to listen!

 

Personally, nowadays I dont believe anything. But if there is the alternative; I'll talk to the big guy before I believe it.

Although to be honest, I had "visions" of dieing outside of a trench when I was a kid.

But it is interesting you bring up the "presence" because i have talked to people and heard an interesting story about that. The story relates to a former teacher i had way back in the day. He told us when he was a freshman in college his mother had died while he was away, he woke up at the exact moment (or moments after it happened) and phoned his brother to find that he was also awake because they both had felt something was wrong. Not soon after did he get a phone call explaining the tragic news.. certainly an odd phenomenon.

 

Such close mindedness. There are things beyond what you can see.

 

50,000 years ago there was around a million people on the planet (just go with the figure)
If there was reincarnation then as today we have billions of people alive where did all the extra spirits come from and what were they doing whilst the had to queue to get into a vacant body for the other 49,600 years?
Oh and why are there dozens of people claiming to have been say Henry VIII or Cleopatra in a previous life?

Dont mind me, in a previous life I was a notorious skeptic!

 

One could say the same thing about a lot of topics brushed in this thread. Luckily everyone is free to have their own opinions.
