what if hitler captures Moscow

so what if he captures Moscow?
evidence shown that the Red Army was fully perpared to fight after the capital is captured.
can hitler conquer Russia? what would you do facing such a hugh country?

 

well, i would think it would be the same deal that napolean was faced with when he got to moscow...

 

If Army Group Center ever did and that is a whopping big if the cost to the Germans would have had been very High in fighting and the winter weather.

 

Personnaly I don't think that Germany could ever conquer Russia. Even If they had conquer Moscow. Probably they would lost a lot of human and military materials ressources in this huge fight.

But after that, Russia is just to big. They would have to covert a so big territory (land and sea by the way) that any power could be really present. We also don't have to forget that Soviets had also much more men than Germany.

Also like Richard said, winter. In addition to the vast land, there is the climatic condition who are very different from one part to another, so that would be and extreme Challenge.

The only thing I could see an invasion working, it is if Japan had made a realy good invasion on their side, but they had to be a lot stronger than they really was.

If he captured Moscow (and Leningrad) there´d have been two huge car parks instead of these two cities at least according to some OKH sources...I guess Hitler had some kinda secret passion for car parks then..

Yes, but then the Soviets have 1 million troops just south of Army Group Centre who have their hands full farther East. So guess what happens next?
