I came across a comment about the stump and thought what's new about WWII? Any new (within the past 3 weeks) places you visited(old battle sites), a new DVD we may have missed( or a good old one newly released) or perhaps your newest militaria aquisition you'd like to share? Perhaps a new fact that you'd like to share that others may not be aware of which you found in a new publication. It just has to be new about WWII:)

I had the Arisaka (7.7mm) my father brought back from the pacific checked out a while ago and fired it for the first time since it was captured during the war. It is a beautiful firing rifle, the smoothest bolt action I've ever fired. It has a strong but steady kick. You know you've fired a rifle after 20 rounds.

Sorry, I painted with such a broad brush but I thought the new or fresh about WWII would perhaps get many into this video or that reenacting event or my new rifle...so i figured I would float the new concept and see if it got any bites

Thanks Dcazz7606, I enjoy taking my shooters to the range sadly I do not have an Arisaka. Sounds to me like that rifle has a good story behind it. One of my swords was from a Japanese captain who was dropped by a marine mid charge and then promptly relieved of that sword when the fighting stopped. Great book, War booty with an army soldier literally stuffed with war trophies on the cover.:)

Have a great trip. Paris is a great place to visit. The food is almost as good as Italy's. Hope you get to Normandie or perhaps the Maginot line. The Saumur Armor museum is supposed to be very interesting as well as a host of others I have missed.
