this rather depends on if your LW helmet is lined with fir or a summer weight which there at least 4 different ones during the war. also if in the case of Skippers and mine from an earlier posting I think on this long thread shows the full electronics / throat mike and installation into the fighter/bombers electronic face board(s).

Pricing will also depend if you are comparing ebay to militaria dealer prices and if you purchase from the European states or USA.

I will admit when I purchased my LW flight helmet with electronics I got an unheard of deal, the price now in the condition that it is in and I have checked many on-line dealerships is running US $ 800.00 and more. This is of course a reflection of things to come Militaria keeps going through the roof on prices.

I got mine from a private Luftwaffe collector in France. It's without the electronics so I paid 130 euros for it. The summer version is much cheaper. Igot a good deal for about 50 euros some time ago, of course without the electronics.

excellent prices Skip ! I paid roughly 400.00 US for mine complete with the electronics this also included shipping.

well am accessing French archiv's right now through 50 KM albums. One of about 7 Schnellboot fotos I am acquiring showing in this case a CO of an S-Boot of the 8th S.-Flottille, his Steurermann and several Matt, Obermatts from the Rotte and the whole of 8th S-flottille during 1944, obviously due to their awards have seen heavy action(s). Finding fotos of KM personell showing thier S-Boot abzeichen in wear is extremely rare.

the personell are standing at Boot-front the single 2cm cannon has been removed from it's mount at dockside.

    size is about 8 x 13cm

Great picture Erich, is this a cherbourg area crew ? French archives have many treasures to be found especially at the Chateau de Vincennes archives or the Inra

Skipper the pic is placed in the spring of 1944 time frame while 8th S-Flottille is based at Rotterdam -Whalhaven

here is Achim Quistorp's "AQ" S-133 heading into the Rotterdam Bunker. S-133 later went to the 1. Schnell-Schule Flottile under a different commander. Quistorp then commanded S-199 until a collision brought hiim and his crew to POW status later in the year - 1944.

That's even better Erich , the Waalhaven complex was a major defense base which controled the Rhine delta and Rotterdam Harbour and I supposed they'd raid a bit in the North sea as well.

Here is my latest RAF cap. A bit battered inside, but still the good thing and besides the leather strap that was missing and which I replaced it is great.

purchased from a friend in Germany this is one of 4 fotos and sosrry for his bookmark-copys

note the man on the left awards and on his sleeve. Stug members of a possible Gebirgsjäger Stug Kompanie possibly. The man on the left with the DKiG could use some possible research and an interesting award that all three possess : Army parachute badge

    sehr Kühl

Nice find Erich. The guy in the middle appears to have a damaged cowl flap (ear).

Actually the U.S. caps were sent to me from the States. The Raf one from the UK . In France I rather find German and French material (both WWI and WWII) , some U.S. ( mostly WWII) and sometimes some British gear (Raf and army) . From time to time other items show like a Belgian Great coat, a Dutch pin, or some Spanish helmets.

that's great Andy good for you, and with the accompanying box as well. seems I am having to wait for the KM prints from France now at least 2 months ESCPAD is very slow. oh well no matter, trying to download two KM prints from a friends Blockade breaker album, the chap served in the seas in the south towards Madagascar and then on patrol in the Med. He evidently was on one of the few successful runs by any German vessel in 42 to SE Afrika without being detected and or sunk. more later........

Table medal from the Chateaudun airbase.

I'm considering offering this as a present to Herr Rökker (he was based there in mid 1944) , but on the other hand I may keep it for myself. It was named after Lt Beau who made the ultimate sacrifice in 1940 when he attempted to stop a massive Luftwaffe attack on the base while he had one of the only flyworthy aircrafts left.
