The T shovel is quite expensive on this side of the ocean. It will sell for 50-100 euros a piece.

Not the flea markets, the price of a U.S T-Shovel. In a similar way , I suppose you'd pay a lot more for a European army shovel in the U.S.

As skipper said! You might get very lucky and find one on a flea market for a very cheap price. Sometimes you even find stuff at a farmer's barn or shed and you get it for free, I got my second M1 Carbine like that. But if you buy on ebay or in specialised stores you pay big money. It's all due to "Saving Ryans Privates" and "BoB". Beforehand only a hand full of shops sold the stuff, because there was no demand except for the few old-hand collectors.

A photo album from continuation war, plus one photo of a destroyed Soviet tank in Salla area, and rare photos of German artillery rafts in the Laatokka lake area ( Ladoga lake ). I will post better pics once I get them through post, but I already purchased them. :)

"West German" e-tools (entrenching shovels), many with 41-45 dates and grinder marks, go for $18-$25.00, replacement handles are in the the $10.00 range. Ordinary surplus stores have boxes of them, I have spent time looking for ones that have intact RZM or WA stamps.

The last T-handle I saw was $50.00 and it was in rough shape.

    My Dad's soldiers handbook.

His original one was lost due to enemy action. I also have his original discharge Papers. And when he passes away (which won't be for awhile yet....he's still going strong) I will receive his 5 war medals.

He did have a German Luger but had to throw overboard when shipping back to UK :(

Sorry pics aren't too clear....taken with my Ipod :(

Thanks for all the "likes" lads

Note the carbite lamp was adapted for eletricity after the war. It has a little whole drilled on the bottom fora wire and the carbite stick was removed so a small light bulb could be adapted. I figured I'd remove the lightbulb and return the lamp as close as possible to its initial condition.

Skipper, I got two questions about the german bandage:

First, does the upperinscription read: 8 Mullbinden
Second, as the reflection of the flash makes me hesitate, does the middle inscription read: Wehrkreissanitätspark XIII Würzburg ?

    Thanks a lot

    Tom

Got a few new slings this morning.

Original WW2 vintage Kerr sling for the Thompson:

It's unmarked but I'm pretty confident that it is legit.

A marked, "C-tipp" sling for the M1 carbine, also WW2 vintage. The "S.M.Co. 194?" is not very clear but it doesn't look like a fake to me:
