Signed German Photos

Actually I copied some of the photos that I have from some that have been on sale on Ebay as I don't have easy access to a scanner.
Most of my collection has come from a very reliable source, a gentleman who was involved many Knights Cross reunion activities as well as a friend of many of the luftwaffe and U-boat aces.

 

this chap would not have the first name beginning with C and his last name beginning with S would he ? ...... hopefully not.

hahaha I know who your are referring too and have known not to deal with that guy for a long time now. actually the reason some of my pics have the little camera in the corner is from an auction where I was going to sell some of my triplicate photos to raise money to buy some of the harder to find and more expensive photos that I need for my collection. I had started to post the photos on Ebay and lost my original CD of the photos for my reference so I went back and copied them back to my CD. However I thought twice about selling the photos and figured I could use them for possible trading in the future and took down my auction items.
so I do not usually go to Ebay to buy and I do know not to buy from the guy you mentioned, his reputation precedes him or something like that

 

I also have a letter from Eisenach that goes along with the photo. I have quite a few letters from the aces that I have photos from as well as the envelopes and their addresses. I have a great letter from Johannes Wiese where he is talking about his plans for the new year (1985) at the time and he included a pic of himself that was taken just days before the 1985 new year.

but with sad regret we must face the conclusion that more and more aces from both sides will not be able to respond favorably even if through friendship the years are hard and trying the soul is withering and the body is tired.

Some receive still so many letters wanting photos signed with no monetary compensation even for shipping costs that the letters are just thrown into the burn pile and forgotten

 

I was wondering about eBay. I bid on that Erich Rudorffer you show on page 5.

 

there is a guy on there that does have good quality signed photos and a great reputation, his father or grandfather was a Doctor that was presented with the Conservation Service Award (CSA) by the United States Department of Interior. The CSA was awarded for his effort in recovering and preserving stolen items from the Thomas A. Edison Museum. Additionally, he served on the board of the Manuscript Society as Treasurer. The seller's father or grandfather was this guy and he has a great collection of signed photos that his son or grandson (the seller) has inherited and has been selling from time to time on Ebay auctions. I have had many phone conversations with this guy about the collection and it is real as far as I can tell.

 

dealing with US collectors, Jack Cook his Father had a very unreal WW 2 US aviation photo collection probably one of worlds largest if I remember right he serving in the photo capacity during the war for our armed forces, Jack inherited and has carried along the tradition he is a seller of high quality goods

 

Hey E, do you remember the name of that NCO-promoted to Leutnant) that I got a few pics of who later became an Stuka RKT-remember the one whose name you found? This guy was one you mentioned who was killed flying somewhere on teh Eastern Front.

 

I'm really enjoying seeing those great signed pictures, not to mention that almost all are famous soldiers.

 

I hav or had two of H-G Lange. Mine were signed before he went blind. I have this one of him.
