No, I still haven't heard anything yet! Should I have gotten something by now?

I know when I requested paperwork it took a long time, but it was wonderful stuff when it did come. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.

I've sent for records three times. The response varied; from 3-weeks to several months.

As Karen said hang in there. I was lucky and it turned out my Aunt had a majority of my Grandfathers paperwork, but when I received it I felt like a 6 year old on Christmas morning. Good luck in your research.

Well the information just came. Not alot of details that I saw, mostly letters back and forth, and the shipping back of his personal affects.
Just skimmed them over for now.
Now I know that he was in 302nd Infantry Regiment, 94th Infantry Division, Company F. I'll just have to search around and see where that company was around Jan 28, 1945.
Thanks again for all your help.

Here's probably the most interesting document:
Anyone know what the "Reez" means after where it says 302nd Inf? Or what SF means in the cause of death?
Any other info would be appreciated if available.

Those are both good guesses, and I was on the verge of posting the same thing. Nice work.

Sheel? Is that a type-o of some sort, like shell, or is it something I don't know about?
    Google doesn't tell me.

Type-o for Shell then was it? Or something else?

Sorry to nit-pick, I didn't mean any offense.
I was not trying to pick on you or anything, just really want to get to the bottom of this. After all, you guys know more about this stuff than I. I appreciate ALL your input.

Also, that reez does indeed look like it could be for Reg. Thanks.
