Is the a list anywhere that gives details of all allied ships torpedoed near the West Indies and South America that gives information about survivors and where they were landed?

    Hi Sniper,
Thanks for that - it gives clear information and looks like a really good place to start my search.

uboat.net - The U-boat Wars 1939-1945 and 1914-1918 and Allied Warships of WWII has exactly what you are looking for.

First, you will need the grid map for you reference here uboat.net - The U-boat War in Maps

Then open this Ships hit by U-boats in World War Two (WWII) - uboat.net in a new tab.

Finally use the Grid "drop down box to enter the grid you want.

Presto, you get a list of ship sinkings in the grid, and a map showing the locations of sinkings. Just click on the link in the "Name of Ship" column for more information on the ship.

Takao, for my personal experience, is a good idea start a expedient for each ship that you be discovered. In this manner, you, searching for merchant ships, warship or U-Boot, you possibly reach the diferent points of view of the same matter. And periodically repeat the search. In more ocassions, you will read amazing pages of a relatives of the shipcrews.

Ahhhh! And don't hesitate in put in contact with the webmasters, joining and participate in Forums. Internet is a huge threasure....don't forget it.
