interesting Studemann signed on a pic of StG 2's Ju 87D's Rudels claims of 519 Soviet tank kills is totally bogus. more like 200 in my estimation Oswald did not fly Stuka's Lacy he is noted as one of the premier Hs 129 ground attack aces of that famous unit, primarily StG 9. neat guy by the way ..........
thanks for the info on Oswald, I had that somewhere but could not find it. I also had Karl Kennel in the post but removed him as he did zerstorer missions, I had originally titled the post "ground attack pilots" but after I had loaded so many Stuka pilots I changed it to Stuka pilots only, So I will take out Oswald as I will by doing more posts on ground attack "schlachter" aces and also another on bomber aces signed photos that I have. I was also going to add a note on Rudel's tank claims about them being disputed so I will do that too. thanks hey I just read Willi Reschke's book on JG301/302 and although it was mostly statistics from records it was very interesting to learn about those units and the FW190 high altitude fighter by Tank. The amount of losses those units suffered is unreal! He also mentions Walter Loos in the last chapter and talks about him being Dahl's wingman and about a couple of russian planes he and Reschke got at the end of the war.
it's looking more ane more like Loos did not bring down any Soviet craft with the Ta 152H. Reschke's book needs a re-do which I am working on at the moment. There are dates listed in 1944 and 45 that no missions flown but are listed via Willi ..............sorry Willi. He is honest enough to give him credit stating that much of the JG 301 history is lost to time and space, most likely burned up in the last days like Kommando Welter and their Me 262 night missions in 45.
On a sad note just before his death a so called colletor conned his way into the home of Heinrich Meyering and stole all his awards !!
Stealing the awards of a dying man, what the heck is the matter with people? how can you show so little respect for someone that had to fight and suffer through that war? that is the lowest form of life that there is!
