This was in a batch of photos I picked up awhile back. Anyone have an idea of the location?

Maybe so but I have seen our very knowledgeable members identify locations on a lot less.

In the background of the second picture I have identified the label "Tanzkabarett Barberina". So, I suggest that there was a cabaret near by with the name Barberina.
Checking the name at google, I found two web pages, exposing postcards with certain locations. One likely location is in Leipzig (Germany) and the other one is in Dresden (Germany).

Sammlinger.com | Ansichtskarten, Ephemera & historische Belege | Sammlinger.com : Ak Leipzig, Lokal Tanzkabarett Barberina, Windmühlenstr

    CARTHALIA - Theatres on Postcards

    Regards from Germany

The first pic looks like its taken in a town near the Swiss border. I have a couple of US Army Press Photos of shots in French towns near the border. Il seeif I can dig anything up.

Quite welcome. I forgot to mention that the US Army and other Press pics I have also show signs in German in those French towns. I dont know if that is justa localized thing? of if it was an occupied nationwide thing? One thing I did find out was that my German Press Pic with the 20 mm flak halftrack was taken at one of Odessas ports-just dont know the exact one though.
