The Smith is a .38 special. It has a HE-M stamp on the backstrap which is thought to mean Hesse-Munipal Polizei denoting it as a gun supplied to Germany post war. Either way its a great shooter as is the Colt. I took the Colt deer hunting last year and will do again this year.

Hi Dave, VERY nice collection. I almost had two more Inland made Carbines but passed on the deal as they were in terrible shape. Also been kicking myself ever since I let go of my Postal Meter carbine.,

Hi, everybody, does anyone know whether British medics carried side arms or any other firearms?

    found this statement Pte...

The Geneva Convention Chapter 3 Article 22 of the Geneva Convention clearly states that medics may be armed in order to protect themselves or the wounded in their care and do not sacrifice their protected status in doing so. Medics may be armed to protect themselves. They lose their protected status if they engage in offense operations.

Believe it or not, a Sten machine carbine was counted as a self-defence weapon for RAMC chaps!

It's a repro stock, I wish it was USGI, but its a decent stock and a friend of mine really likes shooting with it. I prefer the wood stock, but they fire very similar. The .45 is a Colt with matching #'s on the frame and slide.

That Sprinfield should shoot great. .45's are really fun to shoot.
