I have a very large nazi state flag that was taken down and signed by a few of our troops.
I would like to get some info on what unit they served with and maybe contact that unit to see if they might be interested in the flag.
I have tried google and dex but havent been able to find anyone.
The pictures i have are too big to upload so i will check other ways to upload

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

It looks OK to me. Its different (I haven't seen one before), but it looks like your flag is a "Nazi State Flag". Do a google search on it.

As for what unit, the "Bastogne" name on the flag may help if you interpret it as saying the signatories were actually there for the battle. If you do, the main units there were the CCB of the 10th Armoured Div, and the 101st Airborne. In Patton's relief column was the 4th Armoured.

I see there is an address under one of the names. Have you tried getting the phone number and calling it? He's likely moved on, but maybe the current owner could help. I the other option is to pick one of the more unique names (ex: not "John Smith") and doing a yellow pages search on the internet to see what you find.

    Hello KellyK
I am sorry but have to agree with Erich - I am definetly sure that it isn´t an original Nazi State Flag. It plays no rule if they held the flagg first facing the wrong side. Sorry but I don´t know who told you that it should be an original one - it isn´t.

    Look here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Flaggen_Nazi-Deutschlands

There´s no flag which is similiar to yours. They look similiar but there isn´t any - sorry!

When we took the pic the flag was backwards. Kind of hard to turn it around since its so big.

    Hi KellyK,

I can't tell you whether or not your flag is original but you aren't the only one with the same type of request. Take a look at these photos http://www.ww2f.com/members/davy-albums-german-ww2-flag-partenstein.html

Your best bet is to type out the names, search them up online and post them here. Maybe one day someone will search a name that's on your flag and might have some information. Davy (Owner of the flag in the photos) was eventually contacted by the son of one of the soldiers who wrote his name on the flag. His father is alive and in good health. Good luck with your search.
