I've been pacing around the yard and wondering why we always seem to be waiting on things. Why can't events just happen and get it over with? If Patience is a virtue I guess I am virtue-less. We got "The Call" this morning that we'll soon be Grandparents for the second time but we're STILL waiting! 6:30 this morning the text came in they were on the way to the Hospital. We're over 700 miles away and not much to do but Wait. Delivery was scheduled for 10:00am and we're STILL waiting! When the Grandson was born four years ago we at least had the 4 hour drive to St. Louis to keep us somewhat occupied. Doing the 4 hour drive in 3 hours ( I was a little anxious) helped then but now we're stuck here just Waiting! 36 minutes after the scheduled time and I'm still waiting. God this is almost as bad as when I sat in the Waiting room nearly 34 years ago. I've always considered "Time" as a concept devised my Man and irrelevant to any other creature but I now believe it is just another way to cause stress and confusion. 41 minutes and still waiting. Can't sit here just waiting so I'm heading outside to pace and WAIT for the phone call telling us Carson Charles Aiden Blanchard has arrived.

Hey, an early hearty congratulations to you Biak!

I find waiting sometimes to be a good thing (because I have time to think)and other times a bad thing.

But nothing is worse for blood pressure then trying to wait for news on a loved one's health. I guess you have a mixture of both right now.

Take care of yourself my friend and I hope for the best!

Thanks Darren! I have to drive to International Falls this afternoon so I can't even have a drink (or two) to help steady the nerves! 58 minutes and still waiting. Does help to have a few thousand 'close' friends to vent to while I'm Waiting :)

7 POUNDS 14 OZS 19 INCHES LONG!! The WAIT is Over! Perfect ! Pictures are on the way, now we Wait for those! Everyone doing find and Grandpa is now relaxing with a drink. Grandma can drive :)

Go ahead and vent. Get into a match here, that should kill some time! :D

As far as a couple of drinks, I'm sure that brew (and cigar) will taste good tonight when your celebrating!

Congrats on the new addition to your grandchildren mob! Is it just the two (like mine so far), or do you have others as well?

Thanks Guys! Kinda' flying high right now. Clint, we have a total of two now and I believe that will be the final tally :) You'll notice I'm sort of bouncing back and forth from outside to inside to inside out. The Wife has the phone to keep her busy but it's just me and the dog and I gotta tell Someone! The dog doesn't really care. Must get busy building the new toy box (Grandpa's tradition and prerogative) for the newest member! Scatter thoughts will prevail for a while.

Okay after a Brandy and a second cigar I'm calming down a bit. Carson and Mom are doing fine. Makes one realize we are immortal. Through our children we live forever. Oh Sh.. I'm not going there! Now all we have to do is Wait until the middle of September to go see the newest addition to my legacy. Well, her's too I guess.

Well done. We have five grandchildren, and you are correct; they do make us immortal (as well as d**n old!).

Wow, a long day but very rewarding! Let's see, we bought a drum set for the first Grandson when he was three and I'm considering another musical instrument for the new boy. I've always enjoyed listening to the Bagpipes so maybe??............ or a five string banjo! Always wanted one for myself, now I've got an excuse. Grandma bought a few 'presents' today for the toy box I'm making and I may as well add a few of my own. I know I'm jumping the gun a little but they grow up so fast!
