A very happy birthday to the lead actor in my favorite movie of all time! To others, he is James Bond. But to me, he'll alway be Captain Marco Ramius!
Hes seen better days. Remember the photo of him about to make a landing on one of the D Day beaches? er i mean in; The Longest day ;-)) Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sir Connery. You have been and will always be a favorite of this Ami. Whats his age now anyway? 80?
Yes Carl, he turned 80 today. What a career he had/has! I just found out something interesting a while back (although I have not confirmed it yet) that he has an uncredited role in "A Night to Remember" as a deckhand getting the lifeboats ready. I need to watch the movie this weekend and find out for sure.
I agree, he had one hell of a great carreer. I wish he would make a few more movies though, but dont blame him for not doing so thanks to the holes in hollywood.
He is one of my favorite actors of all time as well, one of the most hilarious castings of all time (to my mind) was casting him as a Spaniard in the movie Highlander! I mean really, here is a perfect place for a Scot, and what do they do? Make him an immortal from Spain! Great actor all around. I don't think he ever got to play a Scot did he? Even in the movie The Longest Day he played an Irishman!
Happy birthday to one of my favourite actors. So many great performances - James Bond, Henry Jones, Ramius and of course James Mason from "The Rock". Shows that an actor in his mid 60s (1996 was when The Rock came out, right?) can still handle an action role. It's too bad he isn't acting anymore. I'd watch a Sean Connery movie any day. The movies out now are missing someone of this caliber. He was in the Merchant Marine in WWII, wasn't he?
In Honor of and because I like it! Happy Birthday Sean
Darren, you are correct. From IMDB: Sean Connery ... Titanic Deck Hand (uncredited) A Night to Remember (1958) - Full cast and crew I agree. He is one of the finest actors around, and I've enjoyed any movie I've seen with him in it.
I think one of his most unusual roles was with he in: Darby O'Gill and the Little People (which I actually enjoyed). Oh and for that matter-Zardoz (SP?) (which I couldnt make heads nor tales from).
