Hi! My uncle has a bunch of my grandfather's stuff from the war. Two curious items interested me (but my uncle doesn't know the history of either): He had a book, almost a pamphlet, titled "Why America Fights", which seemed to be dated from the WWII era. I was wondering if someone could help shed light on the book--I didn't get a chance to look through it and haven't talked to my uncle in some time. Also, he had a card which said something along the lines of: "You are A.W.O.L: a Wolf on Leave" or something about a Wolf on the Prowl. It seemed to be the card of some club--It had the image I believe of a howling wolf or wolf howling at the moon and might've said something about meetings. It was a small card, about the size of a business card or a little bigger. It seemed to be very jokey.
if you can post pics of said! that will help, but someone here, may already understand your question..and be able to answer..
I unfortunately don't have pix of either--My uncle has them and he lives in another state and we haven't talked. But from what I remember, the book was a thinnish, paperback volume. And I am SURE the title was "Why America Fights" and it had the title something like this. And the card definitely said A.W.O.L and had the image of a wolf or wolf howling at the moon on it. It, like most of my grandpa's other Earthly possessions, was kept in his gray army handbag until he died in 1975.
