Video of Focke-Wulf Fw 190 (a German fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank) at 2010 Breitscheid Airshow. Fw 190 Würger was a World War II "workhorse", used in a variety of roles by the Luftwaffe. First appearing in 1941 the Fw 190 seized air superiority away from the RAF until the introduction of the Spitfire Mk. IX in July 1942. I LOVE German a/c (just look at my siggy), but I have a question for the Fw 190/Ta 152 experten out there: I thought ALL models of the 190 with the BMW radial had a three-bladed propeller, not the four-bladed one on this unit. I know the Dora and the 152/153 had a four-bladed prop, but this one's got a radial engine, not a Jumo. What's up with that? No decent three-bladers anymore?
Great video,it's good to see a classic like this in the air.On a similar note ,I'm wondering does anyone know about an FW-190 video that was posted on youtube some time ago?It showed a crashed 190 in a forest,I believe outside Lenningrad, and in what looked like pretty good condition.I was wondering does anyone have any info as to whether it was recovered and what the future holds for it.
Was it this bird? Focke-Wulf FW 190 - White 1 This one crashed in a forest in Norway, and was recovered quite a while ago; looks like they're about halfway done with it.
No mate it's not this one as the one on youtube is much more recent.I'm 80% sure it crashed in Russia. If I can find the video I'll post you the details.Besides that, the FW 190 restoration site is excellent.I,m glad to see that there's a few of these aircraft still knocking around.Alan.
Stitchy,if you type in FW190 Russia on youtube all will be revealed. The aircraft is currently in the U.S. completing restoration.Alan.
