Anyone here interested in maps of the eastern front with detailed information about the positions of the german/russian units 1943-1945?
Are they better than Glantz' "Lage Ost" maps? Some of his daily situation maps are just plain bad copies (fuzzy or unclear).
I know these maps too. No the one I am speaking were german maps from the Eastern front. I am sorry that I can“t post it already, because I have to reduce their size. I hope the reduction will be successfull so you will be able recognize all the details (positions of the german and russian units)
I'm eagerly awaiting these maps too--especially those concerning movements etc in Transcarpathia, eastern Slovakia and Hungary! You don't have to reduce their size if you can upload them onto some kind of temporary storge site (Imageshack, etc), then post the link!!
Thanks, now I'm going to have to go back and reread all my eastern front books and have some proper perpective.
I was poking around for some maps as well, and figured I'd add a link I came across: A European Anabasis: Maps A bit tough to read here and there, but seems a pretty impressive resource nonetheless on the situation on the Eastern Front.
Yes. I am looking for detailed maps with the daily positions of the various divisions. I want to make an animated graphic sequence for the time 1.1.1945 to May 1945 in the East. H.F.Boehme
POBEDITELI Sorry if this has been posted before. I found it interesting and had potential for classroom presentations and review.
Damak, What are you looking for in special? Which units? Which special period of the battles in east hongary?
