DNA tests have once again helped identify the long-lost remains of an American soldier who went missing in action during World War II.

TulsaWorld news reports that two years after the remains of Navy serviceman William L Russell were found on a small island off the coast of Papua New Guinea, a DNA test of samples from his surviving family has allowed the military to finally bring the lost soldier home.

I have read of several cases like this one. I think it's great to see these brave souls returned to their native land and families for proper burials. It is a shame that many family members passed away before learning their loved ones fate. I look forward to seeing more cases like this one!
