Halloween II was pretty good. "Season of the Witch" was just embarrassing. Past that the movies get kind of hazy and forgettable for me, although part IV (I think it was) had its charms.

Zombie's remake was fair, but not as scary as the original IMHO. Too much information about how Michael became psycho.

The original one he just stabs his sister to death with no real explanation. That's scary!

I think I'll take a wide route around the local Jewish community center.

For parties, I like to go as historical figures. However, I have a beard that I don't feel like getting rid of for a costume.

So, if I go to a party this year (other than the haunted house), I'm thinking of going as a U-boat captain. Hopefully that won't be too tasteless.

Do you look like Kurt Jurgens?

You could go as a Soviet or Finnish general?

I stole it. Fair is fair.
I go there once or twice a month for translations. They're kind of used to me. :D (Occasional mutters of "schmuck" notwithstanding. ;))

    That's an idea.

I guess I could try for Abe Lincoln, but I think I'm too short, fat, and ugly to play him (and that's saying something on the last point.) Maybe I could go as Mary Todd! :)

How about Captain Nemo? You could take a "Nemo" toy for clues?

Halloween in Chico is pretty intense up until a few years ago you could always count on a mini riot to signal the end of festivities.

A few years ago there was one of the frat kids dressed as the Pope; he was sumarily beaten to a pulp for looking like a klansman.

Here is some YouTube of the festivities, look at the stuff on the sidebar.

Here in Montana we generally (but not last year) have our first snows by Oct. 31st, so very little in the "street party" mode goes on. You sometimes get little bundled up kiddies with their hoodie's draw-strings pulled tight and mufflled little "trick or treat" hopes coming from within un-identifiable little warm bundles.

"And what have we here?" can be answered sometimes with a quick flash of a "ballerina costume" lurking under a parka. Last year we didn't have as much snow, but it was still pretty cool and high winds, so the kiddies were wrapped up again, but wearing fewer snow boots. Too many times we also have this problem with "Easter Egg" hunts in the parks, the snowfall just makes them less than fun for the kids.

That's a bummer dude about the bad costume experience! The costume parade at school was one of my fondest memories as a kid. Nowadays where we live, the schools don't hold costume parades anymore because some of the poorer kids would feel "left out", which is dumb, because I was poor as beans, and when we didn't have a costume, we got a paper plate and made our own masks (that or get a bed sheet for a ghost.) Making your own costume was the funnest part I can recollect.

I can image how "fun" that would be where you live Clint. It snowed here in Albuquerque one time during Halloween, and we had ice all over the streets (after the snow melted during the day a little). I recall that I stayed in, which I remember being pretty sad. But I was warm!

By 2008 I was the guy at home in bed. The first couple years I was here I did some bouncing and private security and that was pretty entertaining. I got tired of having to break up fights because knucklehead "B" spent too much time looking at knucklehead "A's" girlfriend who was dressed like a half naked college chick.

Lately Nov. 10th has become a pretty good drinking night.

Does anyone have any idea why it is that we Americans like to see our females dressed up like "ladies of the evening"? Or is it just that both they (females) and we (males) like the look!

If all females dressed that way all the time, what would the "working girls" dress like to get our attention? Lawyers?

I for one would be all for that. The professional look it pretty appealing actually. All in all though, I'm the type of guy that likes the tee shirt and jeans type of girl.

But I digress, back to Halloween....

What was your favorite Halloween movie??

Even though It wasn't a "movie" But I loved the thriller video.

the ring, paranormal activity, and the exercist scared the poop right out of me!

Friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street ( those kind of movies) does nothing for me. I guess it's from watching enough ww2 movies that the blood and guts don't bother me at all. hehe
