He might be able to claim clause 1 there - as it could be argued well that any camp related item has substantial social value due to being part of 'make sure we don't forget'. I hope this guy is stopped, but E-Bay isn't the only selling place. He could probably be accused of unlicensed archeology.
your not gonna stop him selling, just cutting out his ebay option..we shall see nigel, and how ebay applies the rules...
I've seen this laying on a showcase at I believe the section Canada in Birkenau when I was there in april, that were found by others.
Histroy has shown that you can not regulate morality or stupidity. Some of these items certainly belong in a museum. Nothing should ever be advertised or sold under the premise of being found in a death camp. I reported him as well.
It's just sick how people are ready to make money on the back of Holocaust victims. I hope he can stand his own sight in the mirror.
Did his post on ebay state where he lived? It would seem to me that he might have a problem establishing that he is indeed the legal owner of the artifacts. That is if they are real. Either way the local police might take a dim view of his activities.
This guy does not offer any background or documentation as to where and when these items were found. He sounds like a rip-off artist to me.
I agree and also I believe "AWB" is heavly watched over these days. Those can be any relics. I respect and believe what everyone is saying! Though I'm siding with Texson here
Not quite sure what documentation he could provide if they were illegally dug up from a camp. I think a rip-off is highly likely, but documentation would make it even more suspicious.
