Well if the situation of the war needs to be taken into account (making the question rather strange cause everyone will want to be in a tank not participating in any fighting), then I'd choose something like the British Centurion.

If i had to choose, i would go with the M26A1E2 Super Pershing. There were only two of these made, one in America, and one that was modified while over in Europe, and the one in Europe was used in some limited combat, but it was the strongest operational tank that the American's had over in Europe. However, if this had been unavailible, i would probably go with a regular M26.

I'd be in a German Panther tank...neurotic but full of fun.

I adore the Panther it was a serious machine if you could get it to work properly, Everything about it was good but just broke down alot.

    Good choice :)

I wouldn't count the Centurion or Pershing. Too late.... Depends. Fighting in Africa with lots of sand. Or in the jungle. The plains of Kursk or streets of Berlin. Assault, recon, defense?... Would want a fast reliable tank with a diesel engine for mileage. Also a gun that had good HE and AP. As all around tank I'd pick the Chaffee.

I'd prefer the T-34 or the Tiger 2. Although Tiger 2 did have some maintenance and agility problems, it was always feared and revered in battle

The Tiger 2 was probably one of the most potent vehicle's of WW2 but again broke down alot. I believe the Germans made the best machines but over complicated.

    Just my opinion!

The thought of riding into combat inside a 45 ton can of gasoline terrifies me. I'd have diesel, so I guess that means the T-34/85 (even tho I prefer the other design elements of the Panther variants & Jagdpanther. Better guns).

I guess the answer might depends on when and who you are coming up against?

For the Soviet side, I would pick the IS-3 because by this time I would have known that I survived the war and got to ride around in a pretty good tank... :D
