Well, the aliens took Slipdigit a while back, and haven't returned him. Otherwise, no, just an update to the software plus some long needed tweaks. It's still in the process of being perfected.

I wish the aliens would snap a few more up and not bring them back.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell, WNC - hope it's nothing too serious.

Owners and members remain ( largely ) the same : there had been numerous hack/spam etc attacks which were badly interfering with the site and so the administrators wisely moved the Forum to a new internet 'home'. This only happened in the last few weeks and is still a 'work in progress'.

But the reality iof the situation is this/ Jeff has been practicing his game of Bowling trying to beat Otto but has yet to do so. However, Jeff can beat Otto to a standstill playing Snooker.

    Banjos? Shame they're not ukuleles...

Serious? Well a bit yay and nay really, I have been diagnosed with a serious condition following my third emergency admitance this year. The bad news is there is no cure for me being terminally wonderful - so you'll all have to put up with it. ;-) The great thing is I've had every test under the sun, they know what's wrong, and I'm on meds for it, so it's all onwards and upwards and thankfully no more stress for my poor family.

I only asked the original question because I've found that the first post I've been able to make in months has been deleted by some twerp who's not been a member not half as long as me who apparently does a really good impersonation of a mod. It's an interesting mix of doublethink and watching your grandmother being arrested by a twelve-year-old. An identical post* on WW2talk, the British version of here, has gone uncommented on. Now I know you've all got Obama fever, but has Michelle really managed to attain a firm grip on your spheres related to reproduction enough** to make such an innocent post unacceptable? Perhaps I got this forum mixed up with something similar in Iran? </Devil's Advocate>

I know a few of you might want to know all the sordid details of my illness, but I'd rather not repeat what has become mundane to me if it's all the same to you, but if you ask nicely I'll share some of the bizarre presents Aunt Morphia brought...

    pip pip!

    * You are permitted to read the heinous post on the forum in the land of the mildly repressed @ My Christmas Pressie to you all - World War 2 Talk unless you are a teenage or woman poster because some bloke reckons you may not appreciate it but you can't be trusted to make up your own mind.
** Rephrased to avoid exile of this post to the place where no-one may read it.
    *** Happy Christmas to all.

I might just have to go by Juban's for a recon! It's about 5 1/2 miles from my house.

I personally don't have an issue with such content, I though it was nice actually, and I even noticed that the Christmas Pressie post here had been dumped into our not-publicly-visible storage area while the one at ww2talk was left alone. I suppose one of our "twerp" mods moved it there, and I guess it could be restored, but I couldn't be bothered the clicking. Is it that valuable a contribution to the internet that it's removal prompts thoughts of pre-teens arresting your grandmother? Maybe I should watch it again and see what pops up in my mind this time. :D

I think this is much less an issue of perceived censorship than it is yet another proof that ww2f and ww2talk have very different cultures. Why not pick the site you like and visit that one, rather than highlighting the differences in an attempt to create uniformity? Vive la Différence!

It's the "page 3 girl" syndrome. Nudity is not a big a problem there as opposed to here. Me, personally I don't have a problem with risqué and semi/fully nekkid pictures of girls, but being the way things are here currently in PC America, some twit will complain that there are no pictures of nekkid men or little boys or something like that, and before you know it, there will be no nudity for anyone....

Oh it's I'm not whi ged against some great censorship from those Imperialist Yankee pig-dogs, I assure you, not least because I don't subscribe to that form of thinking mixed with such blanket bigotry. Plus dear Tarka you must recall how I much prefer to say things with some small drama rather than mundanity, who with an ounce of style. I must admit the shock was in finally crawling back here by my fingertips to have some twerp, which is unconnected with the actuality of being a mod of course, say oh no this is not suitable, and then send me a double-talk pm which I responded to in good spirit only to not get a reply to.

The most interesting part is how the video I posted isn't a touch on the one I posted not too far back which also featured many fine looking women, parachuting in a more extreme form of nudity, which went down a storm and as far as I could fathom increased belief in divine creation more than any other post on this forum ever. I mention this for two reasons, one to show that moderation has changed but also to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that God is on my side.

Okay the if you don't love it, leave it argument is a firm foundation to all things seppo, and long so may it remain. However I dare to suggest that rather than introduce some generic uniform value across all forums I visit (and I'm quite amazed you might suggest I should make that choice now, rather than when I first joined), or have to face the bitter choice of which one is best, it would be far better for us all to experience consistency in the moderation across the years.

tl:dr; I almost died, and if that wasn't ordeal enough when I came back here I got treated like a rude stranger.

Chadster!!!! Welcome back bud! I was wondering what happened to you!!!

I sent you a PM that kind of explains things a bit more frankly than can be done in the open forum.

As far as the crux of your quandry: The tone has changed becomming a little less 'locker room' and a bit more 'gentleman's study'. There have been a few 'younger' members admitted and that has required the maturity bar to be raised a tad; be not alarmed as we are far from becoming 'Auntie Maude's Tea Room and Knitting Circle'.

Anyway, glad to see you back!
