I wanted to say hello to everyone here at this forum as I introduce myself. My name is Heather and I'm a huge World War 2 buff. Not only did I write my thesis on Adolf Hitler many many years ago in college (psychological study) but I also cross stitch WW 2 planes (my favorites being the P40 Warhawk and the Corsair) in my spare time. Here are two planes I've stitched so far: AC130 Hercules: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/HLBrock/Cross Stitching Wars Won/AC130Hercules.jpg Sopwith Camel: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v191/HLBrock/Cross Stitching Wars Won/Boo002.jpg My favorite movies are Kelly's Heroes, The Longest Day and Band of Brothers-all of which I love to watch while stitching. So it is really nice to meet you all and I hope to help you all with anything and everything World War Two. Heather
Oh my goodness, thank you all for the extremely warm welcome, gentlemen. I wanted to let you all know as well that the AC130 Hercules I've stitched above is going to be framed and put up for auction-all proceeds going to help either the Wounded Warrior Project or another veterans organization to help soldiers in some way (haven't decided yet). If you have an idea of a veteran's organization who needs funds or help, please let me know. I am also a member of Operation Military Support. Any and all of my cross stitch projects with the airplanes will be donated as I have quite a few to stitch. My next project is going to be a Stratofortress or probably the Red Baron Tri Plane to match the Sopwith Camel. I also do commissions as well if you all are interested... Thank you all again for the warm welcome! Heather
Hello Heather, nice to meet you and welcome aboard! Very cool stitchwork! I like art myself, so it's nice to have another talented member here.
Hi Heather, Great to have another lady on the forum! Excellent choice in planes...the P-40 and F4U Corsair are two of my favorites. Interesting hobby to cross stitch planes. Maybe you'll post of few more pics for us. Welcome and enjoy.
Welcome, to the Forum Heather (also Melissa - who I must have missed meeting earlier!) - as said it is nice to see other ladies on the Forum who are interested in WWII. As you have found the gentlemen here are very welcoming and the content found here is very interesting and educational. I look forward to catching up on your posts.
