    Just found this-
"Aviation experts believe China may have started testing a new stealth aircraft - putting it well ahead of Western predictions that a revamped air force would not be ready for take-off for another decade.
Photographs of the J-20 taking high-speed taxi tests at an airfield have appeared on several websites, fuelling speculation that Beijing is not particularly concerned about keeping its latest weapon under wraps - at least unofficially.
According to the Aviation Week website, security at the airfield where the J-20 was photographed was slack and the prototype could be viewed from several public areas."

Like all else in communist countries, their 'technology' is bought, gifted, or stolen.

We will have to call this plane the "F-22ski".

In this case, I would say that they have a spy in the R & D department of the manufacturer, with a USB stick in his pocket.

This is interesting, i predicted something like this...looks just like the F-22 competitors aircraft, China just makes a phone call to get blue-prints these days...With F-22 and F-35s sitting in South Korea, with the 35 able to traverse most borders undetected, i didn't think China would just sit there and allow its airspace to be over flown with impunity...I don't think the US is crapping its pants at all...but it sure is annoying, another country to watch carefully and one that could spark another expensive arms race. Can't wait for more...

Taxing on a runway and actually flying undetected are two totally different animals.

It is one thing to make the shape, but you have to have the composite materials as well as avionics to make stealth a reality. And a diesel engine is at least fuel efficiant.

I had an arguement on an aviation site about this. I was with you guys, Russia makes cheap copies, (was when Russia anounced its very american looking stealth plane) put their old crappy avionics inside and say "Hey look what we have!" - But you'd be amazed at how the "aviation" dudes thought i was being harsh to point of being wrong...

That J20 looks like the new SUV of fighter bombers. This is what a soccer mom would drive. There's probably a removable bench in the back. Lot's of airbags with a long warranty.
