Just got a new pistol in my collection. It is a beautiful early war Browning 1922. This is such a nice handy little SLP. Another one of John Browning designes. Simple, rouged, and reliable.

The Luftwaffe used them almost exclusively. I also have the spare mag, as well as an excellent original leather Luftwaffe drop holster made by Krieghoff. The gun is an early war, hi-polish finish with S/N-28xxx. Has the early FN marked black plastic grips, and early WaA103 markings( also on both mags!). Minty bore as well! Can't wait to get it out to the range!

It has the early "eagle WaA103" on the frame, two on the slide, test fire proof on the barrel, and "FN" marked on the trigger guard. It aslo has the early "FN" marked black plastic grips. Very nice piece! Luftwaffe drop holster is dark brown leather, Krieghoff marked and dated "41". Both mags are also marked "eagle WaA103." Excellent rig!

Many Luftwaffe Pilots' and aircrews carried the Browning 1922. In fact I believe even Erich Hartmann carried a 1922. Funny story about Hartmann and his pistol. When he was summonded to meet Hitler to recieve his swords and diamond (can't remeber which?) for his RK. He showed up at Fuhrer HQ. The SS guards asked him to remove his pistol and check it with them. He refused. They told him that no one can be armed when visiting the Fuhrer. He replied, "Then tell the Furhrer to come see me when he wants to give me my awards!" That is funny! [IMG] :D
I don't know how Hitler took it, but I'm sure he wasn't happy
This shows just how much Luftwaffe crews loved thier pistols! I also have another Luftwaffe Pistol. It is a 1941 dated Femaru P37 with original Luftwaffe drop holster, that is luftwaffe marked and maker marked "JSD 1941". Inside the holster is marked to a Luftwaffe commander "Krautkopf"? who was apparently the commander of a Luftwaffe fieldpost, and is also marked inside the holster. A great piece!

Unfortunatley the shooter's skills are a little lacking. And my stock 1911 has more power and style.

The 1922 shoots dead on at 30 yards!

Derhoester doesn't have a 1911! He has a post war copy! Ha ha! [IMG] ;)
