Hello Everyone, I have progressed from tracing my forefathers, to The Great War and now onto WW2. I would like to find out more about a Kenneth Mew who served in the Glider Pilot Regiment and took part in the D-Day, Arnhem and Rhine airborne operations. If my sources are correct, he initially served in the Army but was transferred to the Airforce. He also received the DFC, for his part in these operations, in 1945. My parents were privileged to meet Ken and his wife when both couples were out in South Africa in 1951. All four were born in the St Helens/Wigan surrounds in Lancashire. My parents lost contact when Ken and his wife moved to and spent most of their lives up in Zimbabwe. Ken became a Reverend and relocated to Canada in the early 1990's I believe. Ken passed away in 2008 at the age of 92. We have found some information at Middle Wallop Air Museum about Ken but would be most grateful if anyone on the Forum has any detailed information about Ken. Brave, brave men they were. Looking forward to reading, learning and corresponding with you All. Kind regards Helen
Hi Helen. Glad to have you aboard. I'm pretty sure there are some around who will be able to assist you.
Hi, Helen Only just got back on the Forum. I've seen your VM. If you email me through the GPRA website - see my signature - I'll be able to help you further. Steve W.
Hi Helen, I know it's been several months since you last posted in this thread, but I've only just come across this website. Ken Mew was my Dad. If you are still looking for some info, maybe I can help? Kind regards, Richard
That is amazing. Welcome to Helen and Richard. Hopefully, Helen will be back soon and see your post, Richard. She was last on the forum in September, so that is not unrealistic.
Thank you all for your kind comments. I wish I had found this website whilst my Dad was still alive, he would have loved it! Richard

Wow indeed!! Hi Richard, what a small world indeed! Will pm you firstly, and then I am sure all on this forum would love to hear about your Dad's participation in the GPR . Yep, I have been quiet, had few personal issues to attend to, however, all eyes and ears now
