My name is John, I am 27 and have been fascinated with WWII since I was a little kid. My father sparked my interest, which was sparked by my grandfather who served in the Red Army (explained in a different thread (he was not a communist)) fighting the nazis, and my grandmother who was hiding in Poland for six years from the Nazis. I live in NY with my wife and two kids. I work in finance but have always loved WWII history. My favorite topics on WWII are mostly the fighting on the Eastern Front where the real heavy fighting took place (not to negate for a second the brave soldiers who fought on the Western Front, in Italy, North Africa etc.), I am particularly fascinated by the battle of Stalingrad, and operation Uranus. I love history in general especially Roman History, but WWII is by far my favorite topic. That is all for now just wanted to introduce myself.
Hello John, nice to meet you and welcome aboard! There are lots of people interested in the Eastern front here, so your in good company.
Thanks for all the responses. I also love the story of Tito, Battle of Britian, Dunkirk, and D-Day so it is not only the eastern front. I guess you can say I like when the germans lost lol!
