Would like to hear from anyone who served with this unit or knows somebody who did. It was renamed the 1st Separate Engineer Battalion in 1944.

I had an Uncle in this outfit. He was at Guadalcanal and Okinawa, and spent time in New Zealand.

    Hi,
Did your Uncle ever talk about his time spent in New Zealand?

My Uncle never talked about anything or anywhere that had to do with the war. From my research I found out he was in Co B of the 1st sep engineers. He was in Auckland, New Zealand from 24 March, 1943 to 27 Jan ,1944.
