A friend sent me this video of Japanese schoolgirls playing swing music. It's evidently part of a movie made a few years ago. Pretty good.

Not exactly the kind of faces I would expect to see producing that sound, but I did enjoy it.

That was pretty much my reaction when I watched it.

I liked it....and I saw on televison late at night a show by Max Raabe of the Orchester Palaste if I spelled it right which uses big band sound combined with his German Warmacht style of singing to present many tunes from his German perspective. He seems to be an increasingly popular entertainer in international circles and I really enjoyed some of the songs with their very different presentation. Is Big Band Sound and Swing making a comeback? YouTube - Max Raabe & Palast Orchester: Tonight or Never

A few years ago, I nearly sold a movie script with a swing dance scene. As the movie was written, based on young people, I truly wonder how young people will respond to such things.

How do young people respond to Swing Music?

Well, Brian Setzer is still touring...Although his dates are mostly in Europe. It's big over there, not so much here in the States.

Good beat, that swing. Setzer started with Rockabilly and realized you can't be a punk forever.
