    I feel primatively goulish for thinking this, but I'm kind of dissapointed they buried him at sea. I was fantasizing they would drag his carcass into the capital Roman style.

    I give thanks to God for his justice, and thanks to the silent warriors that work in any part of our intelligence system, and thanks to our troops and leaders of them that persevered in this long response. Gone is the world wide held belief that American efforts cannot persevere past a few bad experiences which many of the smaller attacks reflected that attitude, such as taking of our ships, or citizens or bombing of our troops in Lebannon and attack of our people aboard aircraft. All of these cowardice acts were based on the thinking that we would not persevere once these blows were struck against us. It is clear now once we have a goal established that we are united to pursue, it is just a matter of time before the free world will get the job done. We will not accept or confuse that there is such a thing as "martyrdom" when the fools direct their efforts against the innocents and those helpless to be a party to causes, the demented mind attacks in their false state of "jihad". This false interpretation of holy text reflects the depth of falseness they have attached their belief system to. Martyrdom cannot have honor if one intends to take the lives of innocents and there is no room for this false belief system. It is my opinion that every religion that has within its content a view like ours of the "Golden Rule" which can be found in at least 9 of the majors will in time not accept this falsification of "jihad" and will support and celebrate the defeats of the terrorists in the likes of the Bin Laden format.

    I believe they decided to bury him at sea as no nation with which we have good relations with would accept his remains. And since the US declared it would treat his remains with respect to Muslim tradition he had to be "buried" within twenty four hours of death.

    Now, personally I would have preferred seeing the "man" captured and tried a'la the Nuremburg mode, or tried in the Hague at the world court. However, on second thought can you imagine the security that would be needed in either event? Maybe ship him of to Gitmo for a few years before trial, and see who showed up to "rescue" him, and arrest or kill them. I'm relieved that the guy is dead, but I do wish the mission had been to capture not kill him outright. Just my opinion of course.

    this mission had been going on for some time gents, we are everywhere

    this ******* just found out there ain't NO 72 virgins in the afterlife. Personally I would dump his body in no-man's life and put his decapitated head on a pike like days of old to prove a point. You dip-shits think you are gonna get away with this type of evil, no you ain't you will pay dearly as we will find you................all of you !

    a great Monday, justice served, court adjourned . . . . . . . . . for now.

    remember that this scum was just a peg in the cogwheel of evil, he will be replaced and already has. America needs now not to be too cocky but to continue on it's steadfast mission not for revenge be to take out methodically one by one the patrons of this evil empire. Sadam and Osama are just two ..........

    Burial at Sea from 20,000 feet! I like it.

    Fox news...? Really? You don't expect them to not try to slant this in a way to disavow the impact that ol' "W" failed where "O" and the Military succeeded? Just makes me wonder why they would question or downplay the SEALS stellar operation.

    Oops my bad Erich. I hadn't check the reference to the Fox report that he was already dead and see it was a Dec. 2001 article.
    Pirates and Radical Islamic's just never learn! You don't mess with the US and especially the SEALS ! It is a shame we'll never know the guys who got him but I have this feeling enough will know so that they will never have to pay for their own drinks.

    as I said one man one shot, the dead man never had a chance facing an expert, it was him and one of our seals in the room, I may be wrong but I believe that every one of Osamas cronies was terminated in the fight at the compound as it is called by the media. interesting as you read and hear that this "rich mans' villa" has also been occupied from time to time by Afghan military leaders............... hmmmmmmmm

    They should have displayed it and its son, like the Italians did when they displayed Musso and his gal pal.

    It appears Obama approved this operation into Pakistan without Pakistani knowledge or approval. A very hawkish decision for a man often portrayed otherwise. Cheers to him for having the stones to say go, and a doubly so for the twenty or so Navy Seals that dropped in and actually killed him.

    I'd assume many anti-Western insurgents are switching safe houses/caves/hiding spots at this very moment.

    Actually, I've had concerns about Obama in that respect, and I am not anti-Obama. I am just an American and I respect my presidents so long as they are deserving, and I don't think just differing on opinion is cause for not respecting them. (Although it would be a much better world if everyone thought like I do. For me anyway. :D )

    But I am quite pleased with the way President Obama handled this. It was a job well done.

    And, of course, the major kudos go to the Navy Seals who pulled it off. I salute them.

    And that may have been the problem in the past..........coordination with the Pakistanis. You know they were tipping off Osama. Plus, I'm sure with all the $$$ we were giving to the Pakistanis in helping find Osama, they were not too keen on finding him anytime soon. More $$$ to come as long as he was alive.

    It's good they tossed his carcass in the sea, though it's a dirty trick to play on the sharks. They had to get rid of his sorry ass, just like the Russians did with Hitlers remains. An unmarked grave? Someone or a witness might open their mouth, and it becomes a "holy shrine." Same if you cremate and scatter his ashes somewhere, the area becomes a "holy shrine."

    Pardon me if I don't eat seafood for awhile, lol.

    well I totally agree with Otto's statement about OB, he did good and he was given good counsel and our boys were ready and itching to go.

    Carl it is all inter-related in the area we are the great satan remember, we come to knock out and rebuild and then we are stabbed in the back though we do wonder why and that is part of not relating in my opinion with the eastern mind, our own concepts of a free democracy is not sound in their minds and will probably never be...........pardon me for going OT folks

    Wrapped in Pig entrails under a pig pen would be the better option, as far as I am concerned.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Relating this current event back to WWII, Berlin announced on May 1, 1945 that Hitler was dead.
    His body was photographed, but the pics will probably not be released to the public due to the adverse response the release of Saddam Hussein's son's "death photos" created in the Muslim world. DNA samples were taken, and his corpse was transferred to an un-named US warship for its burial at sea. Not dumped from a plane (as someone posted), or "chopper". We don't want this completion of the "find bin Laden" effort to create more problems for American military persons, civilians and America itself than it will by doing outrageous/barbaric things with his body.
    Many of the radical Muslims already think America is the "spawn of Satan", we don't need to re-enforce this concept by acting in an outrageous fashion against this foe. They get all bent out of shape and kill people in Afghanistan when some goof-ball wing-nut preacher burns a Quran in Florida, and America denounces the act.
