I would appreciate some advice. I have the name of a soldier and the date he was killed in action. I think he was serving with the 43rd Div in New Guinea. I would like to confirm these details.

However, I do not know which state he is from so the records on the NARA site are of little use to me. Are there any other sites where I can find the casualty lists?

    Thanks

Its a long shot, but try going to 43rd ID websites and see what info they have.

I've tried all of the websites I could find and purchased two excellent books. Also I have looked at historical newspapers but I need to locate full casualty lists to find the name I am looking for.

His name was T/Sgt Harold Allen Preston and he died 28 Oct 1944. I do not know his ASN.
