(not sure where to post this, Mods please move if there's a better spot!) Got to watch Fifi, last flying B-29, awe the crowds at the world's smallest airshow (there was also a B-25 and an AT-6. And a golf cart.) View attachment 13533 View attachment 13534 View attachment 13535 View attachment 13536 View attachment 13537

Nice shots of Fifi. Was 21 years ago almost to the day that the B-29 and several other planes were at a airshow where I used to live. Thanks for sharing!
Albuquerque - Convention & Visitors Bureau - National Atomic Museum to Move B-52 and B-29 We photographed this one in 2009 while it was still being "unpacked."
That was the courtyard at the time, you could touch them. Don't know if they've "improved" the yard or not, but it was very accessible at the time, if a bit untidy. The BUFF was basically the fuselage, no wings or control surfaces.
My Dad was stationed on Guam back in the 80's, so I pretty much grew up with BUFF's roaring overhead. Played some soccer there as a kid (at the age when a "soccer match" consisted of a huge knot of kids tangled around the poor ball, everyone trying to kick the thing), and the soccer field was right across the road from the runway. Touch-n-goes were always a big hit, and I never ceased to wonder why they would put such a tiny parachute on the back of such a big airplane to slow it down.
