My name is John, age 38 years young, from Washington DC area, and with many family members who fought in World War 2. I have been interested in this particular war since I was a kid; especially the European theatre and Airborne Operations. A Soldier for 19 years and have the privilege to be with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan serving under the famous 504th and 505th. I enjoy reading and learning about these two fine Parachute Infantry Regiments and what they did in combat. I look forward to chatting with others with the same interest and learning from you as you might learn from me.
Hello John, Thanks for your service of so many years and in combat. It is an honor to talk to you, Sir. Glad you decided to join the forum. The ladies and gents are all first rate. Have fun and take care.
Welcome to the forum John, and I know there is a lot of knowledge here that can provide lots of info for you. I also encourage you to tell us about your experiences as we are all appreciative for your service in Afghanistan.
Thank you for your service John. I am joining this thread to see if anyone has info on Seabee operations in the ETO. I have some history of the 69th Construction Battalion from the landing until the VE day. I am particularly interested in the use of the International M-2-4 truck in Europe. I am attempting to convince my fellow reenactors here that it would be proper for me to attend ETO reenactments with it. By the way I am from Arizona and the old cowboys here called them "Texicans" Considered them kind of "high" on themselves.
Nice to meet you John and welcome aboard! As with the others, I also wish to thank you for your service.
Welcome! I am sure you will enjoy all the great conversations and information you find here. We look forward to your participation.
Hi and Welcome, John! Good job at the Stan´s! Maybe that we have some points to discuss. Grandpa was a german Para in WWII.
