WWII Dies After An Assault in His Own Home.

What kind of a sentence do they give where you are from? I hope they send them straight to hell, not just because he was a WWII vet but how do you do that to an old man...or anybody really?

What do you do with these people in a violent, antisocial "gangsta" subculture?

 

I know this is going to sound "simplistic", but I have this sneaking suspicion that our (food factory) use of growth hormones for beef, pork, and poultry is working its way up the food chain to us. Now the most commonly used hormone is testosterone, and it increases aggression.

Now when that is added to the young men's own testosterone developmental stage, just as they are entering the teen-age years, this might actually be a contributing factor. Remember, the frontal lobes of a human don't completely develop until you hit your twenties, and that is the section that controls logical thought.

Not making excuses for these youngsters, just pointing out that a life-time of eating "junk" and having no "future" in society could be a set of contributing factors to their despicable behavior. My suggestion is put them into "boot camp" like detention setting for the rest of their youth, and stop feeding them "Big Macs".

 

There may be many contributing factors that led to this inexcusable violation and cold-blooded murder of an American hero who deserved so much better. However, for me, the bottom line is that they knew what they were doing and they should be treated accordingly. Their callous disregard for human life, for their elders, their country and for the freedom with which they have been blessed MUST be denounced in the strongest terms. First, they should be tried as adults. Second, they should be ruled death penalty eligible. Third, they should be removed from society one way or the other.

Sadly, I fear Jeff is correct. Because of their youth, the will likely live long lives with 3 squares and health care. Perhaps because of his age, an elderly war hero's life was snuffed out. The irony is nauseating.

This is sickening on every level. There is just no accountability anymore and I can't imagine these slugs will be held accountable after their attorney trots out their "sad" stories and explains why it is everyone else's fault.

There is a very small part of me that acknowledges that there must be something sad about two young people that they would do such a thing, but we are all responsible for our actions, even if we aren't held responsible, and these two chose to do what they did.

To think Mr. Dotson fought to preserve the freedom we all enjoy and then died in such a way is infuriating.

 

May these brats rot in their cells and think about their "heroic" deeds.

For me, this is the true definition of heartless criminal intent. When the helpless are targeted and not only taken advantage of but also made to suffer it demonstrates all degrees of criminality. May Mr. Dotson rest in peace and be remembered for his service to his fellow men. May the rest of us show good kindness and good example to our other youngsters that we do not contribute to the making of these kinds of people in how we live our own lives.

 

Sadly this kind of thing is happening everywhere, besides home invasions and assults on elderly citizens, cenotaphs and monuments to those who were lost have been vandalized and in some cases the brass placque removed so some idiot could try to sell it for scrap !!! Personally I would like to see there kids locked in a cell with some psyco who thinks their "cute" let them see what it is like to be terrorized for once ...

 

Excess Testoterone? Too young to be held fully accountable and receive a death sentence?
Solution: Castrate 'em! Then force feed them the pieces like popcorn while they watch footage of WW2 heroism.
Cruel and unusual crimes DESERVE cruel and unusual punishment.
I'm just tired of playing Mamby-pamby wih the ilk our own society has created through a leniency and neglect that has sprung from the long-term abuse of a freedom-once earned through great sacrifice but now taken for granted on a widespread basis.

Our society celebrates and rewards bad behavior, and then questions why our kids are behaving badly. There's more to the problem than just what people see on TV, but it is definitely an element in the decline of decency. Look at all of the reality shows, or as I like to refer to them, the trash, on television and the disrespectful, violent, whiny, moronic (etc.) ways that the "stars" of those shows behave. The worse they act, the higher the ratings and salaries.

What a mixed message that is. How do you convince kids that it's not the right way to behave when they can see that it brings fortune and fame?
