    Hello everyone

I got this with a set of feldpost I bought recently.
Is it a real one or a fake?

on the back it's marked: ges. gesch and the letter b in a circle.

what do you think? fake or original.

    some pictures:

I was going to see if anyone else was going to chime in before I said anything...but it doesn't appear that is likely to happen.

What you have here is a reproduction of the vary scarce Austrian NSDAP Hitlerbewegung Badge. These reproductions are generally sold in the $100.00-$200.00 range...far below what they are actually worth.

    Hope this helps...

Actually, I was thinking of chiming in but thought - hang on......RRCollector is bound to have the answer ! :D

( I was going to gently suggest my doubts because the Swastika isn't touching the edge of the circle....)

    Hello Martin,

Funny thing about these Austrian Hitlerbewegung badges is that the swastika is not supposed to touch the sides...maddening isn't it! This version is known as the 'mobile floating' swastika. These are very, very rare and should be looked at closely. This badge has the classic designs of a reproduction, wavy thick enamel work, incorrect maker & reproduction pin assembly on the reverse.

I have attached a photo of the very same badge with a different pin assembly on the reverse. This is clearly identified as a reproduction as well.

Here is a photo of a very rare maker of an original Austrian Hitlerbewegung badge. Notice the main difference in quality of the enamel work...the pin assembly is vastly different but can be partially attributed to a different maker.R

Which just goes to show how much I ( don't ) know !

But, as ever, I am fascinated to learn about these reproductions.........

What gives it away as well is the pin that goes into the "u" shaped closing device, rahter than the "o" shaped system.
I suspect this is eastern europe maker .

I'm sorry Skipper but I 'm not following you on this one...are you talking about the actual needle system and its closure?
