Hi everyone. I'm proud to announce the start of my research business, Golden Arrow Research, which will be geared towards reconstructing service records of veterans from the archival files at the National Personnel Records Center. Many times finding out about a relative's service in the war can be frustrating due to the confusing bureaucratic nature of the archives and the lengthy wait for information. Many WWI and WWII records were lost in the fire and even when you are lucky enough to receive a somewhat complete personnel file it won't tell you everything you want to know. When did a veteran join a particular unit? What battles did he take part in? Where and when was he MIA, KIA, or WIA? How long was he absent from his unit for treatment if he was wounded in the line of duty? Was he a rifleman or did he preform a different function in his unit? If you know what unit your veteran was in, it is entirely possible to find the answers to some if not all of these questions(and possibly more) through a detailed review of the morning reports which are on microfilm in St. Louis. This service allows you to answer questions about a veteran's service that you cannot find anywhere else. I offer the option to do full and even partial reviews of the morning reports. Additionally, I can also access personnel files quickly and painlessly at a lower cost than even the NPRC charges. Both of these services cover WWI, WWII and Korea, (although the WWI records are not quite as reliable as the WWII and Korean era). Please check out our website for more detailed information to see if we can help you:

    Golden Arrow Research

    Take care,
    Geoff

    Hi Folks,

I've updated my site, Golden Arrow Military Research, to make it more user friendly for folks wanting to submit requests for personnel files or more detailed search requests. If you have been told that your loved one's military records have been lost in the fire and there is no way to discover what they did or where they were I am here to tell you that this is not necessarily true. I am actually able to uncover a great deal of information about individual veterans and trace their steps during the war using daily unit records. If you have hit a wall I can probably help you.

I would highly recommend Geoff's services. He was able to obtain morning reports for my father from his training in England to his progress across the channel to include promotions and attachments to other units, all the way past VE day.He also included a unit roster. He is very thorough, easy to communicate with and reasonably priced. He is currently working on another project for me.Do not hesitate to hire this excellent researcher.

To all WWII Forum members : Geoff provided excellent research on my Dad's WWII morning reports . I highly recommend his services. He was quick and thorough and very efficient and went the extra mile for me by putting the material in chronological order so I could follow my Dad's movements throughout the war. Sincerely , wyo333

For British National Archives Research (KEW et cetera)
See Lee Richards, member on our WWTalk sister forum: Arcre - Home

"Frequent visits to the British National Archives (TNA) at Kew, the Imperial War Museum, the British Library and British Newspaper Library means I am generally able to offer a fast service for your research needs"

"Once the documents have been digitalised, the only way of getting them is through the http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/default.asp Documents Online service, or a partner site like http://www.ancestry.com or http://www.findmypast.com "

    FYI: Fwd from the MoD

"Work on the transfer of the RAF Casualty Reports to The National Archive commenced in 2008.
This has now been suspended, however, following the identification of some material within the Reports which may continue residual sensitivity.
To resolve this issue, we currently plan, subject to the necessary approvals, to conduct a limited public consultation in the Autumn of 2011.
Assuming this led to a decision to proceed with transfer, then those files that have already been prepared for transfer would be transferred to Kew shortly thereafter.

I had Geoff research morning reports for my father's unit, and I received information I never thought I'd ever be able to find. And it was done very quickly......

    Very pleased with his work.

I highly recommend Geoff's services. Even after being done with the job he will continue to look for documentation pertaining to your veteran. He recently researched a great uncle on my father's side, in the future I plan on having him do the same for a great great uncle on my mother's side.

I too, highly recommend Geoff's services. I gleaned an amazing amount of new information on my grandfather's service thanks to Geoff's detailed work. Plus the turn-around time was phenomenal! Only a few days, and I had everything emailed right to me. He is courteous, diligent and thorough. Communication was easy with him, and he answered my questions promptly. If you need help, Geoff is your man!

Geoff is currently recovering from some medical issues. He states he should be up to full speed in a couple of weeks. Please be patient with this fine researcher.
