    Hi!

There is such a thing, called Stuart Kangaroo.
    Here's a pic of it:
    WNP1211 - a photo on Flickriver

And there are more pics in the internets.

I found info that it has been used as a reconnaissance and command vehicle, but also that it had been used as an APC.

So, my question is - does anyone know how many men it held?
The dismounting method I guess was by jumping over sides (as the rear was occupied by engine) and the top was open.

    Thanks!

I cannot see your pic at work because my employer blocks the photo sites but its likely a gun mover or observation post and they predated the Kangaroo even though they resemble them. Ive seen some pics of Stuarts in North Africa deturreted moving 2 and 6 pounder guns.

From the markings it looks to be badged as a 'sawn-off' from a Recce Tp, rather than an APC conversion. The white 52 on red background signifies the second Regt of an Armd Bde (51, 52, 53) and the diamond on the hull side is for RHQ or HQ Sqn vehicles, which included the Recce Tp. I can't make out the Div badge of the left mudguard. I've not seen anything re the carrying capacity for a Stuart Kangaroo, they averaged eight in the Ram Kangaroo, and the Stuart would've been a darned tighter fit, doesn't look like you'd squeeze more than four blokes in one!
